“And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams.” Acts 2:17

In the 2nd Chapter of The Acts of The Apostles, on the day of Pentecost a nation gathered to celebrate a monumental and historic event. Something promised by the Lord was coming… an event that changed their culture, and opened a gateway to their destiny.

Pentecost commemorates the time is Israel’s history, when the presence of God descended in a cloud upon a mountain in the middle of the dessert.  (Mt Sinai)

In the midst of thunder & lighting shaking the earth, and lighting the sky, God gave to Moses the principles of life that would lead a nation to greatness, and the fulfillment of their purpose.

Israel became the most progressive and empowered people on the face of the earth, advancing socially, economically, and governmentally – because of their faith in God, and their pursuit of a dream…

Our text fast forwards to a time in Israel’s history, when once again, the presence of God has descended upon the earth – to validate a people’s existence, and empower new generations to dream of becoming – what purpose has ordained.

In history past, a nation was resurrected and transformed by God’s presence coming among His people – to speak to them His Word…

For the followers of Christ – who in a less than two months had witnessed Christ’s horrific torture and death – followed by His resurrection…the stage is set for the presence of God to change the world.

Christ’s resurrection from the dead established eternal victory over whatever we face in life – was intended to impact generations of men and women for all time – through the coming release of the Holy into the lives of all who would open their heart to the vision & purpose of God.

It had long been prophesied through the prophets of the Old Testament (Jeremiah, Ezekiel, Joel, Amos, Hosea & Zechariah – that the Spirit of God would bring about global change – and cause men everywhere to dream & experience the best of life.

In the Pentecost of old – God’s presence came near to His people – and spoke through His servants God’s will for their lives…

In the Pentecost of Acts 2, God’s presence descends again – this time indwelling men & women from every nation on the earth – releasing within them the desire to transcend their history – know the God that created them – and live in pursuit of the dream that calls them to greatness…

When the Holy Spirit came into the hearts of men that day – nations were simultaneously empowered – to overcome the events of the past that brought oppression, defeat, and fear…

In every generation – dreamers are born.  Men and women who presently live in communities that appear to be destroyed – but are on the verge of being restored — because someone chose to live their dream.

They live in impoverished neighborhoods; where schools underachieve, and students fail to attain high academic standards…They are often surrounded by racism, violence & rampid crime, homelessness…

To these conditions and circumstances present in our communities in 2012, the Spirit of God awaits “Another Pentecost Moment” – when God’s glory, present in the hearts of His people, births the NEXT GENERATION OF DREAMERS!!

Great dreamers come from broken homes, divorced parents, and backgrounds they are not proud of…

Some dreamers have been abused – failed in business –had bad relationships; missed opportunities…

“One of my best moves is to surround myself with friends who, instead of asking, “Why?” are quick to say, “Why not?” That attitude is contagious.” ~Oprah Winfrey

“Once social change begins, It cannot be reversed. You cannot uneducate the person who has learned to read. You cannot humiliate the person who feels pride. You cannot oppress the people who are not afraid anymore. We have seen the future, and the future is ours.” ~Cesar Chavez

“Only those who dare to fail greatly can ever achieve greatly.” ~Robert F. Kennedy

Cherish your visions and your dreams as they are the children of your soul; the blue prints of your ultimate achievements.?- – - – Napoleon Hill
